Geography
Thailand is divided into four main regions: Central, Nothern, Northeastern and Southern Region.
It has 6 admistartive regions with a total of 76 provinces. Thailand has an area of 513115 sq.km. The total population is about 61 million.

History
In Ban Chiang, an archeological site located in the Udon Thani province shows evidence for early civilisation. One of the oldest agricultural civilisations lived there already about 5000 to 7000 years B.C..
 With the beginning of the 8th century AD and increasingly in the 10th century AD, Thais moved in small groups from South Chinas Yunann province along the rivers Mekhong, Chao Phraya and Irawaddy southbound.
